WHAT IS LEVELING UP? Leveling Up is the process of your character becoming stronger from experience. This is represented by an increase to your character’s Level, and occasionally Class.
HOW DO I LEVEL UP?
There are two ways to level up your characters, and the GM can either choose or let his players decide which method to use. There’s the CLASSIC method, which emulates that of the Fire Emblem series, or the GM’S DISCRETION method, which I prefer for the most part anyway.
The GM’S DISCRETION method is simple – the GM can choose when the party can level up, who does, and by how much. For example, after a major encounter with a Summoner in the forest, the GM decides to level everyone up by one level. However, Alyssa’s player came up with an ingenious plan that helped make the encounter easier, so he lets her go up two levels. The good thing about the GM’s Discretion method is that it allows him to keep the party balanced, and to customize the pace of his campaign. On the downside, it might give him a little too much power, which the players could be uncomfortable with.
The CLASSIC mode is the regular, gain 100 ‘Experience Points’ to level up method. Different actions provide different amounts of EXP, and are listed in the table below. The good thing about the CLASSIC mode is that it is very familiar to players of the games. The downside is that Healers often get left behind, and that often some characters become much more powerful than others, unbalancing the party. Perhaps the most important downside, though, is that it forces the game to progress at a certain pace that the GM might be uncomfortable with.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I LEVEL UP?
When you level up, the first thing you do is roll on each of your Growth rates to see which of your stats increase. This is done immediately. Then, once you are Resting, you can perform any additional LVup bonuses, such as increasing your Mount’s level, increasing your Weapon Level or learning a new Class Skill. If you are at LV21, congragulations! You have obtained your first Promotion. If you are at LV41, Congratulations again! You have obtained your second – and last – promotion.
What is a Promotion?
A promotion occurs every 20 levels, and allows your character to further specialize and become more powerful. Instead of rolling on your growth rates, you instead check the Advanced or Master class (Depending on if its your first or second promotion) for what bonuses your selected Promotion gives you, as well as what new skills it gives to your Choice list.
HOW DO I KNOW WHEN TO DO THIS STUFF?
By checking the bunch of numbers below! There is one skill which modifies this chart, and that’s the Discipline skill. The Discipline skill causes you to increase a Weapon Level every 3 levels instead of 5, so just make sure to remember that on your Character Sheet.

WHAT DOES ALL THAT MEAN? Roll on your Growth Rates: Self-explanatory, really.
Increase a single Weapon Level by 1: Choose a Weapon Level you have access to, and increase it by a Rank. For example, Alyssa’s fifth level can have her increase her D-rank in Lances to a C-Rank instead.
Increase your Mount’s level: Well, not a Level per say. See the Mounts chapter for more information.
Choose a new Skill: From all of your remaining ‘Skill Choices’, select another new skill. For example, at LV10, Alyssa decides to take that Adept skill to do some more damage in combat. Whenever you promote, you get a new set of Skills to add to your Choice List, so you’re not going to run out!
