Welcome to my Workspace!
Sup mates? This is my little corner of the site in which I work on my Tabletop RPG games and D&D mods. I am admittedly very sporadic in my updates, but when I DO get to work, it is usually sizable, so bear with me on that!
A little bit about myself. As you may have guessed, my name is Alex. I've been a huge D&D fan for about five years now, ever since I watched some streamed fourth edition sessions with LordKat and friends. I soon got the 4th edition books, gathered a party, and started playing. I loved it! I then played a PC game called Neverwinter Nights 2 (My current favourite PC game of all time), which is set in the Forgotten Realms scenario of D&D 3.5. I loved the 3.5 system, and wanted more of it, so I got myself a 3.5 core rulebook and have been adoring it since. I have also played Warhammer 40k: Deathwatch with the KoD gang, but I didn't quite enjoy it as much, because I generally had no idea about the lore and felt the game was, while very fun, easily broken.
I have a few games on my plate right now. Take a look at them, and look in more detail with the tabs above! If I could ask of you guys a massive favour, read over them and give me feedback. I have posted comment boxes in most pages, and would love to hear from you guys. Remember, I'm not only doing this for myself, this is to get more varied RPG games available to the general public, requiring only the most basic RPG tools. Chief among my priorities is to make games that require only a dice set, paper and pencil, and no extra necessary materials. I hope you enjoy the site!

Dungeons and Dragons: Cloak and Dagger (Cancelled for now)
After watching some episodes of TheSpoonyOne's "Counter Monkey", I heard about this game called "Thieves' World", a more gritty, rogue-oriented D&D game. I loved the concept, but couldn't find it anywhere, as game stores are in short supply in my area and those that do exist never have anything more obscure than official Dungeons and Dragons rulebooks. So, I decided to make my own, combining 4th edition, Thieves' World and what little I knew at the time of 4th Edition. The result was something I was rather proud of at the time, Cloak and Dagger. This game is very sneaky stabby stealy, putting emphasis on avoiding combat at all costs. One of the biggest flaws I found with 4th edition was the insane amount of health points every character got. It made the game too easy, causing the solution for everything to be to kill all the baddies in the room. Personally, I prefer a more sneaky, strategic sort of approach. As a side note, that's also why I love to play Bard in D&D 3.5.
At first, I worked on this project with Facebook notes and Notepad, but that quickly became chaotic and messy. I had the idea to start a Weebly site, and got Nick and Andy on board. As I worked on it more and more, I realized how much of a task it was, and how 3.5 edition was universally better than it in every way, so I decided to scrap it. I'm keeping my notes on the site, though, just as a sort of memento and in case I ever want to take it up again.

Mass Effect Tabletop (In Progress)
After playing through the main Mass Effect series three times and adoring every second of it, I was naturally left wanting more. By now, I was an avid TRPG player, and had been mulling around for new ideas for settings to play in. I had looked online for a good Mass Effect game, but none existed. I was frankly quite shocked. So, I decided I'd do the world a favour and make one myself! I am very proud of how it is coming along, and roughly halfway to a playable first draft. I already have many ideas for when I'm done for a campaign, and cannot wait to get it started.
Warriors (Playable, needs testing)
After being shown Erin Hunter's Warriors series of books, I immediately fell in love with it. Whenever I try to explain it, however, I can never do it justice. All I can say is to check it out, it is a brilliant series, and you don't even have to wait for it to "get better later"; it starts off at its best and frankly teeters out around the third series. Luckily, the third series is about 15-20 books in, so you can certainly enjoy what there is!
As for the game itself, I searched up Warriors roleplaying games and actually found an officially licensed game from whatever publishing company they're from. I gave the rules a read, and was frankly appalled. It was a terrible game, even for a "baby's first roleplay" sort of deal. I told myself I could make one that was even better, and in my mind, I feel I've succeeded. I have yet to actually test it, but I will soon. Luckily, I have a couple of friends who are into Warriors, and somewhat into TRPGs. I will report back as soon as possible with the results, and make tedious edits and optimizations.

Where else you can find me
I have a small Youtube channel, AlexTries, in which I do generally all sorts of things, such as cooking shows, rants, singing terribly, and my personal favourite, gaming videos. If you're interested, give it a look!
